Our World Leading Client within the Aerospace defence industry is looking for WIREMEN to start ASAP in the Edinburgh area of Scotland!!

37 hours per week

£18.05ph LTD rate

Wireperson for production and prototype wiring, manufacturing the following products: - Cable/wire harness - Test boxes - Racks - Working from sketches, wiring schedule's, engineering drawings and circuit diagrams Will utilise the following techniques: - Crimping - Soldering - Splicing - Mechanical Assembly Roles at this level work as an active member of the team, under general supervision, using a wide range of tools and processes to achieve defined tasks and goals. Role holders will manage their own work with limited supervision and resolve routine problems and queries, escalating more complex issues to others.

Key Performance Indicators: - Adherence to schedule. - Quality of output (measured, for example, through number of reworks). - Throughput/ number of units completed. - First time accuracy/ efficiency. - Adherence to Health & Safety procedures. - Time management. - Adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the SAP system. - Contribution to continuous improvement. - Breadth of skill set and flexibility within area of work

Skills, qualifications & knowledge

- Detailed knowledge of specific manufacturing processes and a general understanding of the business area. - Proven relevant technical proficiency either through qualification (NVQ level 3/ HNC) or recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. - Good experience of processes and product to allow a level of independent working. - Knowledge of appropriate areas of SAP system, with understanding of the impact of their contribution. - Good organisational skills, demonstrated through ability to plan and prioritise. - Range of technical skills. - May require external certification in order to complete specific tasks/ processes.

Not a necessity, but ideally be trained to or have awareness of the latest standards in soldering and wiring: - IPC-J-STD-001 - IPC WHMA-A-620

Key responsibility areas

- Plan and prioritise where necessary own activities to ensure specific instructions are completed and time is utilised effectively. - Process/ manufacture/ assemble/ test products in-line with standard specifications, with minimal supervision. - Identify and resolve problems as they occur, within basic operating procedures; escalate through supervisor problems out with operation procedures. - Communicate with colleagues outside of own department, across the same business area, in order to gain clarification and/ or guidance for completion of defined task. - Execute manufacturing plans in SAP, in line with guidelines. May need to re-prioritise work within the plan and solve problems in conjunction with procurement, team leaders and/or production project management, as appropriate. - Roles may supervise completion of day to day tasks of level 1 and 2 staff.
