I am on the lookout for a 3rd Line Wintel Engineer who wants to become a Service Architect for a company that will provide you with the tools and clearly defined goals for you to get there.

This client heavily invests in individuals through internal training platforms and external training courses to keep you up to date with bleeding edge technologies.

They are looking for a Wintel 3rd Line Support and Design Engineer to maintain and develop a complex solution at their Basingstoke or Bracknell office permanently.

Role details:

The role will primarily involve incident management on our clients' live system, on incidents that have been escalated from 2nd line resources that are often remotely based environments.

Additional scope of responsibilities will include delivering infrastructure development and testing of upgrades, patches and new software solutions.

You will guide and mentor other staff, and be a recognized Subject Matter Expert in several fields.

This opportunity would lead to your career towards a Service Architect role in time, and this should be your end goal.

Experience/background they are looking for:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 r2 or later
  • Microsoft HyperV virtualization
  • Active Directory & Group Policy design management, design and support
  • High understanding of networking technologies and troubleshooting
  • Storage systems technology experience (SAN/NAS)
  • Powershell and other scripting experience
  • Microsoft WSUS and SCCM design, management, troubleshooting
