Morson International has a 12 month contract opportunity for a Waste Package Letter of Compliance Manager. The service will be provided at our Clients Site, Dounreay.
The day rate is £280 to £330/LTD (Negotiable/DOE). Applicants with a main residence outwith a daily commutable distance from Dounreay will receive a T&S allowance of £75 per diem. Flexibility is offered on a Monday/Friday for travelling with the additional options of a compressed working week or a negotiable working cycle.
The purpose of the post is to ensure RWM (Radioactive Waste Management Limited) endorsement is secured for packaged Higher Activity Wastes (HAW) to meet the requirements of Dounreay's decommissioning programme and Client Specification.
The Job Holder will be responsible for managing programmes of work for the production and delivery of LoC (Letter of Compliance) submission on behalf of projects for Dounreay HAW waste streams and to technically advise on work packages required to close out Action Points following RWM assessment.
The Job Holder will:
Interface with the responsible project manager(s) to confirm the waste management strategy, and determine the extent of supporting work for the relevant LoC submission(s) and manage all work required to support and prepare LoC submissions up to and including the final stage where appropriate
Act as the single Dounreay Interface with RWM to ensure the timely assessment of LoC submissions and resolution of subsequent action points and advice to secure endorsement
Provide technical advice to projects on required work programmes to address any Action Points arising from LoC Assessments
Progress towards being Dounreay's Intelligent Customer on HAW Packaging/LoCs and attend relevant Industry forums
Assist in the management of HAW Package Records
Ensure the integration of LoC Requirements and processes into the Dounreay Waste and Site management processes and systems.
Act as Contract Project Manager when Contractors are used to prepare LoC Submissions.
Science/Engineering Degree or equivalent qualifications plus experience
Experience: extensive nuclear experience
Experience: over 3 years' experience in Higher Activity Waste is preferable
Experience of the UK nuclear regulatory regime
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including with internal senior management and external stakeholders including Regulators.
Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation
Good organisational and planning skills
Demonstrable ability to influence.
Good technical background
Knowledge and understanding of Higher Activity Wastes/LoC process
