Introduction: Do you want to help reduce congestion and pollution, and improve the health and personal fitness of residents in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire?
My client has been appointed by Nottinghamshire County Council (on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, and Nottingham City Council) to recruit and train a team of Travel Advisers to help deliver an exciting project.
The Travel Advisors will be required to "knock on doors" in residential areas of Nottingham, Mansfield and Newark to talk to residents about their local travel behaviour. Depending upon the answers given, they will then provide advice to householders. The main focus of the work is carrying out face-to-face discussions with residents whilst representing both my client and the two Councils in a responsible manner. Near the end of the project, the Travel Advisors may be required to assist in the collation and delivery of material. Candidates must be willing to work outdoors throughout the duration of the project.
Personal Skills: We are looking for motivated, reliable individuals with excellent communication skills. Ability to work without supervision is essential, as is a polite manner. Listening skills and the ability to converse with a wide variety of people are essential to this position.
An interest in transport issues, in particular cycling, walking as well as experience of using local public transport, is important.
Previous experience of personal travel planning is an advantage, but not essential.
