You will be focussed on the design of through life Service Systems in a military air environment, defining, developing, testing, qualifying and implementing through-life service solutions for our customers. As we move towards a model-based approach to engineering our service solutions will continually be developing new digital capability relevant to the 'information age'. Working across a number of Air projects and platforms to support the definition, development, certification and implementation of through-life service solutions. You will build and utilise electronic models of our service solutions to support key activities within the Systems Engineering lifecycle such as Requirements Analysis, Solution Integration, Verification & Validation, and Test & Qualification. You will organise and run workshops with Subject Matter Experts to capture service solution design information, and present evidence of solution maturity into key meetings such as Design Reviews and Technical Reviews.

AT THE COAL FACE TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessing customer requirements to understand the functional nature of new service solutions, or changes to existing service solutions.
  • Deriving technical functional and performance requirements for service solutions.
  • Working with multi-disciplined subject matter experts to capture the design of component parts of the service solution (inputs/outputs, processes, locations, resources, and information needs).
  • Integrating the component parts of the service solution into a single electronic model in order to: A> Test integration between the components of the service solution B> Test integration of the service solution with the broader support system C> Verify the service solution meets technical, performance and regulatory/legislative requirements D> Facilitate safety hazard analysis for the service solution E> Assess the impact of changes to service requirements or solution assumptions F> Analyse service operations to identify opportunities or risks G> Aid communication and decision making through presentation of structured service solution information.
  • Providing evidence from the service solution design into key internal and external reviews, such as Design Reviews, Technical Reviews, and Contract Closure Meetings.
  • Supporting the implementation of service solutions through Declaration of Service Readiness
