Test Manager

Location: Farnborough

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Rate: £57.79 LTD

Key Responsibilities

The Test Manager will be expected to:

  • Write or oversee the writing of detailed test procedures;
  • Develop test specifications and ensure that there is clear traceability between the test procedures, test specifications and requirements;
  • Interface with functional and technical architects and developers to distil the necessary details in order that tests be written as effectively as possible;
  • Review test scripts produced by the project team or business;
  • Ensure that the tests are executed to an agreed timetable;
  • Execute tests on a variety of end user platforms when required;
  • Participate in reviews of requirements, system architecture and design documents;
  • Effectively communicate testing activities and findings and report against key metrics using either manual reports or test tool generated reports;
  • Identify and manage risks and develop mitigation strategies;
  • Help plan, arrange and control meetings, workshops and relations with client/user staff during test planning and throughout subsequent development and testing activities;
  • Design and apply testing standards (e.g. defect management processes) and test methods in an intelligent and effective way and be able to tailor these to suit specific project needs.
  • Produce a consistently high standard of documentation of both a technical and a descriptive nature;
  • Contribute to defining the departmental test strategy;
  • Bring knowledge of a range of test tools and best practice to support growth of the test capability.

Technical Skills

Proven ability in:

  • Palo Alto - *Protection Profiles* and *Access Rules*;
  • Windows AD (Active Directory) - Read Only Domain Controllers (RODCs), Group Policies etc;
  • Linux\Solaris\AIX host configuration;
  • Standard Operating Environment (SOE) build and management processes i.e. McAfee AV, IBM IEM;
  • Protective Monitoring, Arcsight, Pen Testing, Secure Mobile, and Test Automation.
