Morson International is able to offer a 6 month contract in Indonesia.

This is an engineering role and it consists withthe validation of early-stage disaggregated 2G/3G/4G/5G cellsite gateway/router transport solution and mobile backhaul solution. The engineer will be asked to validate various solutions mainly through test & measurements and scripting. The engineer must have an excellent understanding of end-to-end access/edge/core networks, transport/backhaul networks and packet-optical systems. More specifically, the candidate must be well-versed in IP/MPLS, various routing & switching technologies. The engineer must also have a good understanding of equipment vendor design (both hardware & software) as well as control/data/management planes and multiple years of experience in test & measurements in lab environment. The engineer should be familiar with the latest concepts such as orchestration, controller, service lifecycle, telemetry, API, data/information models. The engineer must also have good communication and reporting skills. The engineer might be asked to travel internationally to help out with lab or field trials.

Duties:

  • Testing and configuration of various mobile backhaul and packet transport network elements such as cellsite gateways/routers, edge/aggregation routers and packet-optical devices in a lab environment
  • Configuring and operating various test tools & equipment (hardware & software) used in a lab environment
  • Development of operator-level test plan, execution of test plan and validation of requirements, identification of issues & troubleshooting and documenting test results
  • Collaborating with hardware and software vendors to improve product quality & readiness
  • Engaging with ecosystem partners (operators, equipment vendors, test equipment vendors) during lab trials
  • Integration of these cellsite routers / packet transport network elements in various network topologies and end-to-end scenarios including mobile base stations and mobile core systems (eg., eNB, EPC), to be performed in conjunction with other teams


Mandatory Skills:

  • Solid understanding of test & measurement principles that pertains to networking related functions in the context of mobile transport/backhaul networks
  • Experience configuring and testing cellsite switches/routers/gateways, network demarcation devices, aggregation routers and packet optical transport systems
  • Platforms such as: Cisco ASR903/920/9000, ALU 7705/7750SR/IXR, Ciena CN3900/5000, Huawei ATN910/950/CX600/NE40, Juniper ACX/MX, Ericsson Router6000
  • Understanding and configuration of IP/MPLS control/data plane, including routing technologies such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, RR, VPWS/VPLS, EVPN, Segment Routing, Provider Bridging/QinQ/C-VLAN/S-VLAN, LAG
  • Experience configuring and testing Carrier-Ethernet services ELINE/ELAN/ETREE, L2VPN/L3VPN services, Pseudowires circuits, wavelength services
  • Strong understanding of IP/MPLS/DIA/Ethernet network design & deployments in large-scale Equipment vendors and Operator networks
  • Knowledge configuring and testing of QoS & H-QoS related mechanisms including classes of service, policers/shapers, schedulers, active queue management
  • Experience with various traffic generator equipment such as IXIA, Sprint, Xena, Viavi
  • Strong knowledge working with linux-based switches/routers

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and testing of fault management & performance monitoring functions for transport/backhaul networks such as 802.1ag/Y.1731/IPPM/TWAMP/MPLS-OAM
  • Solid understanding and testing of frequency & time synchronization network architectures & functions such as Synchronous Ethernet, IEEE1588, Boundary Clock, ITU-T G.8265.1/8275.1 profiles
  • Capable of operating and configuring test & measurement equipment such as Calnex Paragon and various sync-related devices such as Grandmasters and clock sources
  • Working knowledge of EMS/NMS systems
  • Knowledge of latest trends of SDN orchestration, controllers, including service API for inventory, provisioning and activation, zero-touch provisioning (ZTP), path computation
  • Experience with YANG models, OpenConfig models, including definition/specification and test & measurements
  • Good understanding of integrating and testing microwave/mmwave systems
  • Experience with test plan development, execution, troubleshooting and documenting issues, setting up test beds, configuring test equipment and troubleshooting end-to-end networks
  • Desired experience in automating test cases, API integration, python scripting
