An excellent opportunity to join a leading ICT provider with an exciting R&D department. A technology planning manager and strategist is wanted to support our client's European Research Institute in directing the future research portfolio.

Position Responsibility

*Analysis of research developments and trends in Europe considering ICT based technologies and specific developments for different industries
*Analysis of the technology demand for our Clients product developments and corresponding strategies
*Elaboration of technology roadmaps for the European Research Institute
*Planning of the annual technology strategy of the European Research Institute
*Planning and execution of research conferences
*Establishing and maintaining external contacts to industrial partner

Candidate Requirements:

Education background:
*An university degree in communication engineering or computer science or a comparable qualification
*A PhD would be appreciated but is not mandatory
Work experience:
*Professional knowledge: Research experience either in or related to one of the above mentioned domains.
*Software techniques including OS, kernel, compiler, programming language, database.
*A deep understanding of the academic, commercial, and partnership research landscape in Europe
*Minimum of 5 years working experience specifically in technology management and strategy development in a hi-tech environment.
*Broad horizon in ICT related technologies with a basis in software technologies, e.g. OS.
*The proven ability to build relationships with universities and research institutions.
