Technical Architect - Warrington - 18 Months

Job Introduction
The role of the Technical Architect is to deliver both operational, BAU and project deliverables.
One of the primary deliverables will be the support of the implementation of the new High Performance Computing solution (HPC) which is used for data analysis, nuclear modelling and simulation computations, of which the output is delivered to the vast array of customers across the nuclear sector. The solution is deemed highly valuable and is responsible for huge revenue streams.

The Technical Architect will be required to deliver the technical support through the design, build, test and implementation phases whilst ensuring the technical solution meeting security requirements.
The TA will be required to work closely with the partner suppliers delivering the HPC solution which include OCF, Amazon Web Services, BT, IBM and adaptive to ensure technical requirements are being met.
Wider business engagement will be required with the Scientific community who utilise the HPC platform to ensure the solution is fit for purpose and provides the required performance.
The TA will also be responsible for executing the Azure Optimisation initiative under the leadership of our Chief Architect. This initiative aims to review and optimise our environment to reduce our infrastructure costs.

Main Responsibilities
* Responsible Architect for the HPC Solution.
* Accountable for the successful delivery of the HPC Solution (through the delivery partner).
* Responsible for operational readiness of the HPC service.
* Responsible to produce technical solution HLD's, LLD's, Target State Architectures, Roadmaps, Blueprints, Build Books, Test Plans and Scripts.
* Responsible to design, deliver and implement Azure Optimisation opportunities. Including for example:
* ARM Templates and Extensions, DSC and other activities to automate Ops
* Rearchitecting Solutions
* Reserve Instances and or Resource optimisation.

Experience & Skills
1. Possess good breadth and depth of knowledge and knowhow across all technology domains including Technology, Data, Security and Networking.
2. Experienced in deploying and managing Linux based OS.
3. A proven track record in the design and development of enterprise grade solutions for traditional on premise and modern cloud or hybrid environments in secure industries.
4. Experience of HPC Environments designing, building or managing.
5. Highly experienced in Azure PaaS, SaaS, InTune and Office 365 Administration.
6. Highly experienced in optimising Azure environments resources and cost management.
7. Highly experienced in Azure automation including Runbooks, DSC, ARM templates.
8. A demonstrable background in accredited environments and balancing business benefit and technology risk working close with Architecture and Security to develop appropriate risk balance cases and documentation.
9. Good understanding and certification (or working towards) industry standards, Enterprise and Solutions Architecture, TOGAF, ITIL, APM and Cloud Architecture Technical Certifications.
