Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and checkout of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1) Set-up test benches in systems lab, including cable definition and build as well as system configuration and trouble-shooting.
2) Conduct systems investigations on a wide range of subject from RF performance, to Ethernet network investigations and report results.
3) Conduct system level testing according to systems Test Modules and report results.
4) Maintain lab equipment as required, including logging in new assets, tracking existing assets, coordinating calibration of test equipment, etc.
Skills: Must have experience Assembling, Testing, and repairing system racks, cables and test equipment Must have ability to build, Test, and maintain IFE Systems, Cables and Test Equipment Must have ability and knowledge to use Test Equipment including but not limited to, Digital Multi-Meter, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope Able to use hand Tools, Meter, Solder, Crimp Tools Must know how to aid with Fault Isolation on System Racks, Cables and Test Equipment Must have knowledge and be able to work form Schematics, Diagrams, Written and/or Verbal Descriptions IFE background is a plus
Education: One year certificate from college or technical school or Associate Degree from a Junior College in a technical field four to six years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Aerospace experience is a plus. Familiar with network systems and Linux OS. Familiar with analog and digital lab test equipment. Must possess strong communication/documentation skills.
