Our client BAE Systems seek a contract Systems Engineer for a Process Improvement Lead Engineer position.

The Localising Typhoon EW Programming (LTEWP) project delivers a Typhoon Electronic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) capability to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF)

This role is to review the LTEWP engineering processes and introduce a series of engineering process improvement across the project. Review the existing design review and LCM actions and ensure they are completed. The LTEWP Process Improvement Lead Engineer will report to the LTEWP Process Improvement Project Manager. The role will also be responsible for successfully implementing a number of engineering improvements in order to minimise schedule delays

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support to the Process Improvement Manager in executing engineering improvements with the UK LTEWP team.
  • Responsible for introducing Engineering Improvements into the UK LTEWP team taking away distraction from the delivery team.
  • Assess and actions improvements highlighted through design reviews and and LCM actions and drive through to completion/closure with assessors.
  • Support the engineering programme re-baseline reflecting Phase 1 impacts to Tornado Transformation in 2021, and then consequences to Phase 2 to 4.

KEY SKILLS / PROVEN ABILITY

We seek a Systems Engineer with proven ability in managing programmes across internal and external and introducing process improvements.

  • Systems engineering practices and procedures.
  • Understanding requirements and introducing process improvements.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work autonomously.
  • Delivery focused.
  • Good standard of written communication.
  • Familiarity with EW Operational Support methods would be an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation and with the Customer.
  • Understanding of Typhoon support programmes is preferable.
  • Understanding / knowledge of Saudi projects is preferable.
  • The candidate must have excellent Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook skills.
  • Motivation, Team Working and Communication are essential
