Purpose of role:

Our Client has a vacancy for Requirements and Human Factors Engineer to join their SI team, based in offices in New Malden, Surrey or in Broad Oak. The role is primarily a requirements role but there are some HF aspects to it as well.

The Successful Candidate will be working on the Shared Infrastructure (SI) Systems requirements and HF for various RN surface ship platforms.

To support creation, review and amendment of product requirements and maintenance of the associated DOORS database.

Agreed requirements

Reports and Specifications

Presentation material

Requirement and Acceptance database

Tasks and Activities:

Conduct requirements analysis

Support the production of new requirement statements

Manage requirements in the DOORS database

Improving the SI DOORS requirements set through the investigation & implementation of OR's.

Generation of customer documents from DOORS to support contract reviews & test events.

Reviewing and implementing improvements to the requirements and acceptance management process.

Running customer reviews of the SI Human Factors, capturing their recommendations, ensuring they are tracked and implemented by sub-system teams.

Coordinating the acceptance of SI HF requirements through formal test events.


Technical Skills:

Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment

Substantial experience of System requirements analysis and management

Experience using the DOORS requirement capture tool.

Some HF experience

Industry Knowledge:

Minimum 5 Years' experience in engineering or a defence or related industry

Understanding of LCM & the Engineering Lifecycle

(Desirable) Experience within a Naval Combat Systems Development Environment.

(Desirable) Knowledge of Naval Combat System Products
