Morson International currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Software Engineer, HV Battery Controls to join our client, an automotive company specializing in distinctive luxury electric vehicles. The Software Engineer, HV Battery Controls will work on the high voltage battery team developing cutting edge Battery Management System (BMS) software. They will work directly on architecture, design, development, and testing of BMS functionality.

Primary responsibility for one or more modules of the Senior Engineer, HV Battery Controls (Battery Management System):

* Participate in software review meetings, including providing input and analysis as well as joining in the decision-making process
* Support Quality, Reliability and Robustness efforts (DFMEA, etc)
* Track and analyzes software requirements changes. Translate system requirements into detailed software requirements and design, as needed
* Support troubleshooting of software issues for both development and production software releases
* Support software validation by designing appropriate requirements validation procedures
* Support integration of HW/SW during prototype development
* Strong collaboration with HW & vehicle systems teams
* Full life cycle automotive product development. Work directly with Supervisors and Directors.
* Display the ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans
* Experience in accepting responsibility and accountability for major analytical and planning assignments
* Communicates directly, and effectively, with direct management and cross-functional leaders, as required
* Demonstrate strong teamwork skills by developing consensus and win-win situations
* Develop functionality rollout plan of feature content and solved issues
* Evaluate and recommend options consistent with industry best practices
* Analyze, design, test and validate automotive electrical system architecture
* Determine and source suppliers for all components
* Release the product into company's release system.

Required Qualifications:


* Bachelors degree (or an equivalent degree) in Electrical / Computer / Mechanical / Industrial / Systems Engineering, or a related field of study. Masters preferred
* 5 + years of relevant experience in plug-In hybrid electrical vehicle applications
* 5+ years of relevant experience in power electronics software development
* Solid foundation in power electronics software development
* Experience with microprocessor, automotive ECU, electrical / electronic hardware, embedded software
* Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN)
* Experience with automotive vehicle mechanical and electrical system architectures (e.g., distributed control systems)
* Experience with systems engineering principles, hardware and software design concepts
* Experience with automotive electrical system architectures and control systems
* Experience with automotive development process (requirements, design, implementation, and validation)
* Experience with requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS, Integrity)
* Experience with software quality and processes (CMMI, Automotive SPICE)
* Experience with review with change management.
