Supportability Engineer / ILS Engineer

Crawley - 6 month duration - Pay rate £42 p/h Ltd

We are looking to recruit a Supportability / ILS Engineer to work for our market leading defence client operating across the land, sea and air domains. Working out of the Crawley Head Office you will be involved with a number of projects across a range of ILS disciplines, including providing estimates in support of bid activity. Candidates should therefore be able to work independently and have demonstrable experience of working in a similar environment.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Working as a member of the Through Life Engineering (TLSE) Supportability Team the engineer will carry out traditional ILS activities in support of airborne, land and ship based equipment from 'cradle-to-grave'.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Carrying out traditional ILS activities e.g.:
    • Reliability, Maintainability and Testability Studies
    • Calculating Mean Time Between Failures (MTBFs)
    • Failure Mode Effect & Criticality Analysis (FMECAs)
    • Logistic Support Analysis
    • Initial Provisioning

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven ability working as an ILS Engineer including the following skills:
    • Reliability, Maintainability and Testability Studies
    • FMECAs
    • Logistic Support Analysis
    • Initial Provisioning


  • Availability Modelling
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft® Access
  • Be conversant with the Raytheon 'Eagle' database.
  • Be conversant with the Arbotext Provisioning Manager tool.
  • Be conversant with Relex
  • Be conversant with the DOORS requirements management tool.
