Supportability Engineer

Location: Templecombe (predominantly remote currently, some on site working will be required)

Duration: 12 months

Rate: £43 per hour Umbrella or £36.69 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)

The successful candidate will be working on a fully integrated unmanned mine countermeasures system. The key requirements for the project are Supportability Engineering, FRACAS, and Logistic Support Analysis. Each Supportability Engineer will support specific Sub Systems of the MMCM System.

Key Responsibilities

To take responsibility for assigned Supportability Engineering tasks through empowerment and to achieve the assigned tasks to time, within budget and to the expected quality of that of management and customer. Supportability Engineering tasks:

  • Write proposals
  • Produce ILS Strategies
  • Manage assigned resources
  • Implement new tools and processes across MMS
  • Produce Integrated Support Plans and reports
  • Logistic Support Analysis
  • LSAR
  • Produce Availability, Reliability, Maintainability analyses, plans and cases
  • Attend design reviews for the designated Sub System and act as the point of contact for Supportability Engineering
  • Deputise for other Supportability Engineers at design reviews, etc. if required.
  • Populate the FRACAS system with data, analyse and produce reports
  • Attend Failure review boards and configuration control boards
  • Logistic Support Analysis Record population, and report creation
  • In service maintenance plan monitoring and optimization
  • Spares parts modelling and optimisation
  • Coordinate infeed data to Obsolescence, Tech Pubs, and Training
  • Attend Integrated Logistic Support reviews and 'present' progress
  • ILS Management

Proven Ability / Key Skills

  • Supportability Engineer with proven ability of working on defence programmes
  • Integrated Logistic Support knowledge
  • Logistic Support Analysis proven ability
  • Availability, Reliability, Maintainability Engineering knowledge


Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
