Support Operator

Job Purpose

The Support Operator works as part of a flexible Operations team responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient operation of the Enrichment facilities at UUK. The Support Operator may be allocated to support specific projects and may also be required to support future decommissioning activities as appropriate.

The role is predominately based on days, especially during the training period, however the role may be required to support Shift Operations as required based on business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Understand and carryout operations in line with approved safety and operational procedures.

Test check and record process data to meet company regulatory requirements.

Promote effective team efficiency and culture.

Support the delivery of continuous operation.

Experience Required

Chemical/Nuclear process plant operating experience - Essential

Experience of working in a highly regulated environment - Desirable

Experience of working to a Safe System of Work/Control of work process - Desirable

Technical Skills

Capable of complying with stringent health, safety, environmental and security procedures and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of Plant Control Systems.

Competent in using industrial vehicles

Proficient in the use of relevant computer systems and applications as appropriate for the role (eg Microsoft Word, email, SAP, PACS)

Vocational Qualifications

Senior secondary vocational education ideally Grade C in Maths, English and Science.

Ability to gain relevant NVQ L3.
