Job Title: Supply Chain Planning Manager

Location: Wigan

Salary: £45-55k+package

A leading global manufacturer is looking to recruit a proven and experienced Supply Chain Planning Manager to be responsible for managing a purchasing team of seven, along with the purchase ledger team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
  • Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams
  • Provide operational support and guidance to ensure maximum productivity
  • Report on key supply chain KPIs
  • Suggest solutions for process improvements
  • Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Train and evaluate others
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Train and mentor SCM employees
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps
  • Focus on cost management and business growth
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports to Supply Chain Director
  • Handle communications and negotiations with external suppliers

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Detailed knowledge of supply chain planning and wider supply chain principles
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal level
  • Can clearly demonstrate the results of continued performance improvement
  • IT literate with strong PC skills and an excellent operational knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the other key Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Highly analytical, with strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years' experience in supply chain management
  • APICS or CIPS certification a plus
