Supply Chain / Materials & Inventory Controller (SAP) - Hersham - 6 Months +

POSITION SUMMARY

The objective is to manage the availability of spare part. Optimising a balance between the cost of capital tied up in inventory and still delivering a high level of service. This is achieved by:

  • Building and maintain Equipment Bills of Materials (BoM) in SAP
  • Determine the correct safety stock level of spares to be set in SAP for each plant
  • Purchase (or repair) and arrange storage of necessary spare parts in SAP
  • Calculate and control the inventory levels, through MRP settings in SAP, to ensure that the required spares are available for use in a timely manner.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

  • At least 2 year's experience in SAP R3 (Materials Management and/or Warehouse modules)
  • From a purchasing or supply chain background
  • Extensive experience in a technical or engineering position
  • Technical appreciation of operating plant and equipment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specification of equipment
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills with an analytical mindset
  • Excellent administrative skills, with attention to detail is crucial
  • Excellent use of analytical tools plus good IT skills, specifically:
  • Microsoft Office, especially advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, Macros etc)
  • SAP (Materials and Warehousing Module)
  • Access Databases utilising Dynamic Link Libraries (DLL's)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Optimise European spares inventory levels & echelon policy
  • Maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BoM's) in SAP
  • Execute timely stock replenishment when spares are used through the timely refurbishment of failed equipment and new buy of spares
  • Manage stock inventory checks via Cycle and Sample counting
  • General data entry and extraction into and from SAP
  • Analyse SAP data and co-ordinate mass data updates where required
  • Providing emergency breakdown support to the operations and maintenance teams
  • Help to develop, track, monitor and automate (where possible) KPI's for the Materials team
  • Providing general admin support to the Plant Support team
