Supply Chain Category Manager - Civils & Construction required to communicate, execute and deliver a coherent supply chain strategy for our client BAE Systems N aval Services to meet changing business demands and cost challenges.

The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Provide strategic supply chain expertise to implement significant cost-down, output improvement and process improvements for the Naval Services business stream.
Support the implementation of innovative solutions to meet Customer led contract developments (FMSS)
Use interpretation of internal and external forces to develop and implement robust category strategies for the sub-contract and material supply chain. Deliver incremental and sustainable 'value for money' opportunities across the end to end Maritime supply chain and globally as appropriate.

Responsibility for developing and delivering the category strategy/plan including the delivery of business objectives.

Ensuring contracts with suppliers (subcontracts and materials) have commercial rigour which minimises exposure to risk, encourages innovation and incorporates improvement targets.

Lead major category contract negotiations.

Support internal and external customer reviews.

Accountable for Procurement aspects of LCM and supporting projects from bid to closure

The Supply Chain Manager will have extensive relevant experience of Civils & Construction and will understand and deploy functional strategy to multiple projects and programmes using expert functional knowledge. This requires technical knowledge of multiple associated disciplines and functions, a sound understanding of regulatory requirements and the application of specialist skills to ensure process/procedure is followed.

A strong understanding of the Supplier-Company-Customer relationships and their respective strategic imperative to identify shared goals and win themes is required as is a good understanding of the industry and customer, competitors and awareness of market innovations.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
