Senior Subcontracts Manager - Hersham - 6 Months +

We are currently working with a client who are looking for a Senior Subcontracts Manager to join their team based in Hersham, Surrey. You will be reporting to the Regional Subcontracts Manager EMEA. This position requires extensive experience in managing Project contracts and understanding of contract terms, intent and application.
Reporting is a key requirement of the role to ensure accurate forecasting of contract deliverables and be responsible for proactively managing your own workload.

Key Responsibilities:
* Embody the 4S culture of Safety, Speed, Simplicity and Self-Confidence
* Work with Global Product teams (engineering, technology, commercial Product Management), supporting the business and functional organisation to achieve goals primarily focused on Proposals, Sourcing and Project Contract Execution for Engineering, Construction and EPC Projects in Europe. This includes:
o Proposal and estimating support for Projects including sourcing budget pricing from the market
o Preparing and executing the Projects Subcontracts Strategy identifying the life of project requirements including working with planning and cost/estimating to understand budget allocations against contracts.
o Prepare and execute the sourcing plan identifying and qualifying suppliers including EPC companies, engineering & construction suppliers to meet requirements and understand safety, commercial, technical and capacity risks
o Drafting and preparation of bidding documents and the Pro-forma Contract including technical scope of work, pricing schedules, QA/QC and HSSE requirements, and contract execution requirements.
o Leading bid packages including issue to the market, clarifications, technical and commercial evaluations, negotiation and placement of contracts.
o Conducting Kick-Off meetings and leading Subcontract and commercial meetings internally and with Suppliers. Leading the Contracts team meetings (in alignment with Procurement) to manage the contract demand planning and escalating any potential or actual problems, delays or commercial impacts which could adversely affect delivery of the contractual programme.
o Responsible for the timely preparation of legal and contractual documents such as Letters of Instructions, Contract Change Orders / Modifications, Insurance Documents, Subcontractor Approval packages, Certificate of Final Acceptance (COFA), and other legal or contractual packages as needed
o Leading the preparation of and negotiating cost impacts and schedule changes with Suppliers for contract Change Orders / modifications / claims assessment.
o Performance management of contracts. Manage relationships with suppliers and maintain interface at senior level within their organisations.
o Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers to maximise leverage and minimise risk.
o Act as an escalation point for contractor interface for project execution issues when relevant
o Effectively participate in Continuous Improvement activities.

Critical Competencies:
* EPC Contract management is critical for this role and understanding of end-to-end contract placement to close out.
* Core skills in contract management, administration and claims resolution.
* Strengths in drafting contracts and legal understanding of contract risk and the key clauses for contract execution and successful delivery of projects
* Integrates cost forecasting and planning for subcontracts management throughout the project lifecycle.
* Excellent negotiation and contract resolution skills.
* Strong influencing, communication, and facilitative skills, including cross cultures and geographies,
* Ability to bring teams together to achieve targets and goals with clarity on action planning
* Ability to work cross functionally within the business
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) technical and non-technical information, internally and externally.
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong understanding of macro-economic factors
* Financial and Business acumen
* Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent knowledge and proficiency with the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note) and collaborative tools.
* Good Knowledge of SAP and requisition to pay processes

What we're looking for:
* MRICS and or CIPS
* Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Mechanical / Civil) degree is advantageous.
* Master of Business Administration is advantageous.
* Extensive experience working in an EPC / Oil and Gas company.
* Experience in contracts and contractual language.
* Excellent oral and written English proficiency is a must. Second language is advantageous.
