Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Sub Agent to join our Regional team to work in the North West/midlands.

Role Purpose:

To lead and control a section of the works, according to a specific discipline. Management of a team of Section Engineers & Site Engineers within same disciplines.



What youll be doing
As a Sub Agent , you will have the following accountabilities:

Motivate team and manage performance monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate
Health Safety & Environmental

Reviews Method Statements and Risk Assessments and makes improvements as appropriate
Able to lead an Accident / Incident Investigation (HFACS and 'Four Page Report')
Carries out trend analysis and identifies improvement areas from audits and near misses
Carries out field audits and confirms the sufficiency of control documentation
Production and implementation of Permits to Work, specifically Confined Space Permits and Hot Works Permits
Strong understanding of temporary work and timescales for implementation into the works
Engineering Control

Guides & coaches subordinates in technical requirements and techniques of setting out
Guides and coaches subordinates in resolution of construction issues, drawing on experience and accepted industry best practice
Quality

Ownership of whole process of production, checking and submission of Handover Documentation (Green Files or equivalent)
Implements systems and processes to support construction of the works in accordance with the specification (eg Materials Approval, NCR, Handover Documentation)
Carries out trend analysis of the above and identifies improvement areas for non-conformance and business improvement
Carries out Independent Inspections of their own section and of others
Carries out Site Audits to check works and documentation compliance
Coaches less experienced staff
Liaise with designer to resolve technical issues
Productivity

Sets targets and KPI's in line with key outputs and monitors performance, reporting Section Progress
Carry out constructive analysis of fully resourced programme
Manages sub-contractor performance based on KPI's
Ensures production of operational target programmes to reflect overall construction programme
Chairs weekly team meetings to review performance on site
Commercial

Sets targets and KPI's in line with budget forecast
Chairs weekly cost meetings and identifies improvement areas and allocates appropriate actions to team members
Prepares a cost plan and manages cost v value
Involved in the procurement of subcontractors and advises on commercial aspects / preferred attendances.

Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card. SMSTS qualified

Strong communication skills with track record of solution orientated approach to issue resolution
Excellent role model for development of junior staff and demonstrates required behaviours to align to business, project and team objectives

Clear understanding of the requirements for handover and self-certification of the works, including management experience of the same

Able to analyse and offer improvement on a fully resourced stage programme in the accepted format / software
Understands sub-contractor KPI's and has experience of using them to manage performance
Able to dynamically shift programme and adapt to circumstances on site whilst maintaining focus on targets
Experience in the management of pavement reconstruction and surfacing operations, including phasing and contingency planning
Experienced in the management of varied infrastructure works, together with testing and handover
Commercial

Used to setting targets in line with budget
Able to produce a realistic financial forecast and track progress against programme
Identifies elements for cost recovery from others and guides junior members of staff in maintaining project records
Working knowledge of the NEC and other relevant forms of contract.
