Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer this post forms a key part of the Company’s drive towards high levels of coordination, performance, capability management and understanding. The purpose of the Head of Strategic Resourcing role is to:
• Oversight of the demand planning process, ensuring a consistent, disciplined approach across the company. The process will produce consistent demand profile modelling which will result in the generation of the fully resourced Master Schedule for the business (One version of the truth) with consistent assumptions and algorithms.
• Manage the receipt, interpretation and distribution of resource demand data. The data will feed into the long term view into overall sector strategic resource planning.
• Use the data to develop and own the business resource and capability medium and long-term plan, supported by local BU plans managed by the Resource Leads.
• Drive delivery of the capability plan through the relevant stakeholders in the business and monitor progress.
• Provide cross business oversight of resource allocation and trading, and drive continuous improvement in the accuracy of the demand single through analysis and feedback.

The role will ensure the establishment of appropriate systems, processes and tool to deliver robust resource allocation and demand forecasting management. The role will support the business in effective planning and forecasting of resources including balancing realistic requirements with risk appetite. This role is pivotal in the success of the company and will be responsible for ensuring we have robust resource forecasts. Resource Leads are embedded within the Business Units to support the activities and the Head of Strategic Resourcing has dotted line management responsibility.

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Business, Project Management, HR or related subject
• Experience of development interventions such as apprenticeships, traineeships and upskilling activities
• Experience of working with industry standard enterprise planning tools
• Experience in designing and implementing Integrated Business Planning (IBP) / Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and systems in large, multi-project and service, environments and is fully conversant with all aspects of IBP and other planning processes.
• Good understanding of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Process and/ or Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) Process
• Advanced User of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Project
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Understanding of project delivery dynamics in a complex, regulated, engineering environment
• Experience in critically assessing business processes and identifying areas for rationalisation/improvement
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good attention to detail
• Demonstrable strategic experience including internal and external analysis to produce and delivery business plans
• Previous experience of developing and upgrading demand planning processes (resources and facilities) would be beneficial
• Experience of configuration and document management tools and processes (incl. SharePoint)
• Knowledge of system implementation
• Previous experience as a project manager or planner would be an advantage
