Morson International is pleased to offer the role of Strategic IT Manager on behalf of our long-standing client based within a walkable distance from the following stations - Temple, Blackfriars, Mansion House, City Thameslink, Chancery Lane and St. Pauls.

The entire business is made up of around 65 employees, with five members within IT. The organisations IT is heavily outsourced with one vendor being responsible of the majority of the services. You will be a direct line manager for the five members of IT, with three of these staff working in a support function

Due to the size and structure of the business we are looking for an IT Manager who poses the below essential criteria:

  • Own the IT function across the entire business - you will be responsible for the strategic plan for IT across the business, present your findings and future vision/plans to board and see projects through from inception to completion

  • A true Manager - someone who has who has proven experience leading a small team, investing their time in developing technical members of staff

  • 3rd party/Vendor management - Due to the vast majority of IT being outsourced, you will have experience reviewing performance and addressing cost savings.

  • Cyber Security - Experience implementing security polices/procedures and ensuring these are followed across the business, ideally in line with ISO27001. Making suggestions around latest technologies and how security across the wider business can be improved

Predefined projects:

There are two notable projects that you will be tasked with from your first week within the business.

The first project will be an office move - with the organisation moving offices in mid-2021 you will responsible for the designing and planning all elements of the move from cabling through to Networks, ultimately ensuring a smooth transition and that IT is fit for purpose from day one in the premises

The second project will focus on the telephony system - you will be responsible for reviewing the market, agreeing costs and selecting a new system that is fit for purpose, whether this be cloud, mobile or VoIP
