Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage the inbound and outbound stores area and team for Radway Green to support production requirements.

Job Context

This role supports the Radway Green operations by operating logistics and safety systems, processes and procedures that effectively manage, plan and distribute raw material and finished product within Radway Green to assist production in meeting the contracted delivery dates. Also to provide expert assistance on timely logistics solutions and identify/develop improvement plans for warehouse and inventory management including, tactical stock locations, picking processes, inventory control, warehouse performance, and cost measurement.

Accountabilities include but are not solely limited to:

  • Implement Lean material flows for raw material management and to finished goods storage to follow FIFO principles which includes adequate stock control procedures with shelf life monitoring
  • To manage inventory to business targets whilst controlling working capital and product lead-times and ensuring the ability to service customer's requirements
  • To manage and mitigate logistics aspects of supply chain risk
  • Ensure a safe and continual improvement culture is driven across the Radway Green Stores function including the completion of specific safety related tasks (PAVA's, WPI, OSHENS, NCR etc)
  • Management of the in-house term contractors employed to provide services relating to onsite services (spares), Oils and lubrication management and waste management including day to day running, CI initiatives and performance management
  • Monitor and control variable overhead spend relating to indirect materials and overtime including the annual creation of the departmental budgets
  • Ensure adequate documentation in place ensure the stores team are fully compliant in their tasks including risk assessments, standard operating procedures and PUWER assessments including the training of the required documentation
  • Management of stores team covering all aspects of line management responsibilities including performance management, holiday entitlement, training, sickness and absence monitoring and disciplinary
  • Focal point of contact at Radway Green for management of customer furnished equipment and government furnished equipment relating to Light Munitions IDT
  • Ensure Export control procedure (as defined by Land UK) is adhered too in relation to despatches from Radway Green including appropriate documentation required for export sales
  • Update and management the relevant SHE documentation relating to MSDS sheets for in use chemicals

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous Logistics experience within a manufacturing/operations business or function is essential
  • Experience in managing multi-functional teams
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
