Job Purpose

Manage the TMF plant stores and satellite areas to ensure that critical and high usage items are available when required thereby minimising plant down time and procurement costs.

Carry out checks of specialist equipment such as lifting equipment, access equipment and special tools as they are returned into stores to ensure fit for purpose at next usage.

Materials Receipt and Movements.

Receipt of items in TMF Goods Inward and materials physically moved to their assigned storage locations.

Develop and Manage system for Control and Retention of associated Quality Certification and Documentation.

Carry out random security and quality checks on incoming materials from Capenhurst Goods Inward Facility.

Assemble Work Order Specific materials packages for planned and reactive maintenance activities, notifying Preparations team when all material requirements are available and task can be scheduled for execution.

Stock replenishment

Develop strategy for 'Through Plant' local holding of area specific 'bread & butter' provision.

Monitor stock levels of local 'bread & butter' items and ensure replenishment occurs at determined trigger points.

Management of Repairable Items - workshop and vendor liaison

Monitor status of repairable items; actively expedite internal personnel and external vendors to ensure the timely repair of equipment and its return to stock.

Control of Work Equipment

Own the Tooling Store; responsible for the care and provision of all specialist PUWER equipment.

Own the Lifting Tackle Store; responsible for the care and provision of all LOLER accessories.

Record trigger time usage of tooling associated with Hand Arm Vibration aligned to individual users (internal & contract).

Own the Portable Access Store; responsible for the care and provision of all ladders and portable access equipment.

Co-ordinate 3rd party examination /Calibration / maintenance and maintain the associated register and records for the above.

Personally perform visual inspection of all items issued both before and after use.

Disposal / Return of Materials

Return of incorrect or damaged item to vendors.

Arrange disposal of waste materials arising from stores, e.g. oil drums, packaging etc.

Manage stores 5S development and implementation.

Manage identification, write off and disposal of obsolete stock.

Skills Required

A high attention to detail is essential for this role.

IT literate in programmes including MS Office, EAM / CMMS packages (ideally SAP).

Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise instructions.

Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant health, safety and environmental regulatory requirements.

A well sorganised and self-motivated person with the ability to proactively manage their own time.

Basic knowledge of continuous improvement systems and tools.

Basic knowledge of contamination control / security systems and procedures would be beneficial (training will be given).

Qualifications

Extensive Experience in Stores Management / Quality Assurance

Recognised engineering apprenticeship and/or City and Guilds qualification (preferred but not essential)
