Software Systems Engineers (x2)

Location: Weymouth

Duration: 12 months

Rate: £55 per hour LTD

Being a proactive member of a team specifying a new software system running in a high performance virtualised computing environment. The system will be based upon a Service Oriented Architecture using industry standard communications middleware technology and will be designed to maximise extensibility, openness and long term maintainability. The system will contain significant real-time Signal Processing elements; the successful candidate will ideally require a good basic understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).

The task will: review the architecture and processing requirements for the system, survey potential technologies, standards and/or libraries to implement the architecture; assess the potential risks of using the implementation technologies, providing quantitative evidence where possible; propose candidate extensible user interface implementation methods including thick and thin clients and web based approaches. Documentation will be produced using standard Microsoft Office applications (word, visio, excel).
