Our Client has an opportunity for a Software Developer to join an existing team to support their Simulation & Training (S&T) team based in Bristol during a period of heavy workload. S&T design, develop and support training systems that contain modern gamed based simulations at their heart for both our internal and external customers. Core products range from maintenance simulations of aircraft to familiarisation and operational simulations for key products.

As part of an integrated team you will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of projects which include simulations for their Radar business, Avionics simulations for the core MOD customer and development of future avionics simulation framework. As all projects use a similar development framework the Client is looking for individuals with experience of C++ and/or C# and knowledge of Unity 3D.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Design and Development of software applications and software infrastructure in the area of aircraft/avionic system models

Development testing in an integrated environment

Production of and updates to technical documentation

Qualifications / Experience:

A strong academic background is required, ideally degree level, preferably in Engineering, Maths or Science subject or equivalent

Experience in the modelling and simulation of physical or electronic systems and subsystems

Essential Skills

Good problem solving and analytical skills

Experience of C++ development preferably in a Windows environment

Knowledge and experience of Configuration Control in a software environment

Desirable Skills:

Experience in C# development

Experience of Unity 3D development

Experience of Simulation technology (such as HLA / DIS)

Object Orientated Software Design using UML

Experience of the .NET framework

Experience in modelling aircraft and avionics systems

Experience in writing and executing acceptance test scripts

Experience in using Visual Studio and SVN
