Job Description

The Enhanced Process & Toolset team (EPT) develop and support the toolsets used by the Eurofighter Avionics community. The key system is the PCMS configuration management database - the central repository for all airborne software and associated documentation. This role is to support the PCMS team in maintaining and enhancing this capability. In addition to supporting the user base, the main focus is to upgrade the existing hardware and software platforms whilst deploying new security and remote working mechanisms. This is challenging due to the business critical role of the system requiring high reliability, availability and scalability whilst at the same time having to support multiple governmental customers, air forces and industrial partners.

Our client is looking for someone with programme experience to help move the EPT toolsets onto new hardware, support remote working and other improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

Your main responsibilities will involve:
Senior Solaris and/or Linux programmer, particularly ([*] essential) :
* [*] Perl
* [*] SQL (especially Oracle)
* [*] ksh (or bash) scripts
* Familiarity with c#, c/c++, awk, sed, html, js, css

Additional things that would be nice:
* SC-Cleared
* XML REST Services
* Oracle "DBA-lite" skills.
* Familiarity with "Microfocus (Serena) Dimensions" configuration management system
* Working with the full software lifecycle
* Windows development, especially Microsoft Visual Studio
Low priority:
* VMS & DCL scripting
* ADA development
Most important traits would be:
* Independent
* Self-starter
* Self-motivated
* High degree of attention to detail, especially with testing

As well as the above skills an ability to work with a team, a proactive approach to problem solving and effective communication skills and the ability to complete task without direct oversite.

The Individual
The candidate must be good with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook

The candidate must also have excellent Linux Programmer and Perl skills and be good at writing test reports
