Morson International working with a global consultancy who are looking for a Software Engineer (JavaScript- Java) to join their team in Amsterdam. This is initially a 7.2 months contract with the chance of extending for a number of times. Rate depending on experience.


- Assistance with design activities and prototyping
- Design and implement software, based on requirements and analysis artefacts supplied by the System Analysts
- Implement and perform unit tests reflecting system specifications
- Implement and maintain the necessary software development lifecycle artefacts (e.g. Deployment Guides)
- Collaborates strongly with the Institutions Solution Architect in developing the solution, by applying the Institutions architectural principles
- Collaborates with Business Analysis function in identifying and preventing risks from the requirements gathering phase and all through the lifecycle of the solution
- Collaborates with Test function in documenting and clarifying potential bugs/improvements
- Supports continuous knowledge transfer to team members and transparent approach in sharing risks/issues/dependencies
- Autonomous in managing activities based on priorities given by the Project Manager
- Identifies potential improvements to the process and to the software products according to agreed designs/requirements
- Experience working with key users in a fast paced and changing business environment to design and develop software that meets business need
- Experience of the full development lifecycle of complex large scale and multi-user applications
- Production of the relevant technical documentation, such as system designs, class designs and documentation for the support team
- Reports outcome of testing through the JIRA SDLC tool
- Production of the relevant technical documentation, such as system designs, class designs and documentation for the support team
- Capacity to assist the support team in training the users of the system
- Assistance with operational support of software produced


- Bachelor Degree in IT or related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience in IT (combined with studies)
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in: Javascript, Java, Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, API Development
- AAnalytically oriented to establish root courses of defects and incidents
- Experience using agile software development methodologies (i.e. Kanban, Scrum and other lean techniques)
- Experience in Objective Oriented Analysis & Design (OOA&D) with UML (Unified Modelling Language)

- Desired experience:
- Experience in working with JIRA SDLC
- Experience in working in DevOps environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Sharepoint
- Knowledge of Azure AD
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management platforms (e.g. IdentityIQ, Oracle Access Management)

- A strong technical background, specifically the delivery of complex software systems
- Knowledge in IT Service Management and/or Risk frameworks, and/or international standards.
- Working experience in using static code analysis software and addressing violations raised by the product
- Working experience in using defect tracking software and addressing defects
- Experience in working in an environment with technical teams comprised of testers, analysts and system administrators and solution architects
- Capacity to assist with evaluating and testing products delivered by external system suppliers to ensure that they conform to the Institutions requirements and methodology.
- Very good English of written and spoken English
