We are on the lookout for a Software Architect to be a Digital Signal Processing expert for a well regarded and cutting-edge client in Crawley.

You will be designing and developing bespoke hardware solutions for Customers or standard reusable solutions for Product Lines and variants thereof.

You will be using the latest class leading devices and development tools for FPGA, SoC, DAC (Digital-to-analog converter) and ADC (Analog-to-digital converter ) hardware architectures.

This opportunity is replacing a well-regarded individual who is deciding to retire towards the end of 2022. They want someone to work alongside this individual to take in this individual's invaluable knowledge. Off the back of this, there is plenty of scope for someone who has experience with Matlab, Simulink and Algorithm development to grow into this role.

Although their office is in Crawley, flexible/home will be part of the role, however, you will be expected to go into the Crawley office on occasions.

Role responsibilities:

  • Decomposition and interpretation of system requirements
  • Development of DSP algorithms for Software Defined Radio and Electronic Counter Measure applications
  • Design and development of DSP algorithms with a deep understanding of the target Hardware
  • Design and development of DSP algorithms with an understanding of how to efficiently partition designs across FPGA and/or Processors, i.e. understand what does what best
  • Design and development of DSP algorithms with an understanding of how to ensure algorithms can be designed to be efficiently executed in FPGA VHDL
  • Design and development of DSP algorithms with an understanding of how to ensure algorithms can be designed to be efficiently executed in C/C++ or similar within target processors

What we will consider to be successful in this role:

  • Experience in the use of High Level tools including Matlab/Simulink for RF DSP algorithm development
  • Implementation of complex designs using FPGA and Processor devices
  • Mathematics or Data Analytics background
  • Mathcad experience
