We have an opportunity for a SITE QUALITY ENGINEER based at the HEYSHAM 2 Power Station.

The role is to cover mainly Outage related works - previous EDF power station experience would be advantageous.

BPSS clearance or higher required.

The successful Candidate will provide positive leadership on quality matters within the Site Quality team and promote the adoption of best practice. To promote a culture that delivers positive commitment to quality and engages all employees in continuous improvement.

Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the quality management system and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.

Ensure project activities comply with relevant procedures and QA requirements - in particular Outage project activity

Accountable to the Site Quality Group Head, with functional responsibilities to Outage Quality Delivery Lead.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Compile a Surveillance Plan to address quality related risks associated with the project portfolio.
Carry out surveillance to the agreed plan of Project and Contractor Quality Plans.
Review, comment on and assist with the mark-up of Quality Plans, Quality Programmes and Project Definition Documents as part o the IDP Process.

Assist Project Managers in carrying out surveillance and inspection visit to manufacturers and sub-contractors.

Assist Project Managers in establishing quality management arrangements at the beginning of a project and maintain them throughout the project lifecycle.

Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities within the QMS.
Assist in maintaining supplier and contractor quality arrangements, including monitoring of their quality plans, method statements and other procedures.

Monitoring and supporting change management including technical queries and concessions. Maintaining and logging surveillance close outs, non conformities and trend analysis.

Complete monthly reports on quality performance, identifying good practice and any deteriorating trends.

Support the PPM with governance checks on quality aspects of Gate approval submissions.

Assist with document control issues, including project close out and archiving.


QUALIFICATIONS

HNC in a technical discipline or equivalent.
Recognised BE EN ISO9001 Internal Auditor training.
Working knowledge of the current versions of IAEA GC-R-3, BS EN ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management practices, methods and processes.
This should include experience within Projects Quality Management, ideally within the Nuclear Industry or other similar regulated environments.
