Job Description

This is an active role, which will involve manual lifting and carrying of goods, looking after one customer delivery site in Barrow, set to a routine. The primary customer is located in Barrow where most of your time will be spent. You will be required to deliver various goods to this site, that will have multiple delivery points. This will range from Fasteners to consumables, PPE and any other customer requirements including Spot Buys. There is also a number of Warehouse duties that will need to be carried out daily including checking goods in, Booking in, Processing, Producing paperwork, Booking out, Filing, Billing, Del Spot Buys, Pick up Spot Buys .

The delivery areas work on a managed inventory system (V.M.I). This means that when the stock drops below a certain level then the stock is reordered and replenished at point of use. Reordering is carried out through the use of a Bar code GPS scanner.

The stock is then picked packed & shipped from the Branch located at Newcastle at the end of each working day. Then delivered into Barrow on the next working day.

You will be responsible for managing your daily activities within your set working hours and making sure that all of your areas are visited each morning set to the schedule & all warehouse duties are carried out on your return.
Once on customer sites you will be representing our company and must adhere to all of the sites health and safety and codes of practice.

You will be responsible for the delivery of goods to each delivery point and checking stock levels and ordering stock with the GPRS bar code scanner.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that the correct items are placed in the correct locations, as some items can be safety critical.

You will be responsible for making sure that all locations are kept to a high standard of housekeeping and that all items are present and correct.
On a daily basis you will be reporting into the main sales offices, that are linked to your customer sites, via phone and reporting on each site before leaving.
Set up of new locations and areas will be expected, under guidance.
Auditing areas

Communicating with the customer at all levels and passing of relevant information.

You must have a full UK driving license (up to six points considered)
Must have an eye for detail and accuracy.
Computer Knowledge essential.
Good communication skills as you will be Customer facing at all levels.
A Fork Truck License is desirable ( But not essential as Training Can Be Given )
A knowledge of industrial fasteners and fixings would be an advantage.
