We are working on an infrastructure upgrade programme to support the MODs future requirements in relation to both its warship and submarine programme. We require 12 Site Engineers to join us ideally in February, 45 hours per week, Mon- Fri.

The Key Responsibilities will be
-Daily supervision and organisation (in conjunction with site team) of subcontractors to ensure safe working practices in accordance with project requirements e.g. specification and terms and conditions.
-Setting out of structures.
-Maintaining Quality Assurance Records and ensuring compliance with specification.
-Record keeping of site and other activities, including contractual records, for example daily diaries.
-Taking off and ordering of materials, and checking on delivery.
-Planning and sequencing of operations including the writing of risk assessments and method statements.
-Be proactive in project costs and assist in reporting on variances against weekly forecasts.
-Identify risks and opportunities, both technical and commercial.

The Qualifications and Technical Experience expected will be as follows
-Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
-SMSTS / IOSH
-Minimum 2 years work experience within a similar role with a main contractor in built environment.
-Experience of coordinating design work and supervising subcontracts.
-Understanding of Engineering Principles
-Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
-Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system)
-Relevant CSCS Card

Desirable (the ideal)
-Experience in piling, steelwork erection, precast and insitu concrete
-Experience of heavy lift and transport contractors
-Experience of construction on a nuclear licensed site
