Shell Script developers required to write Shell Scripts for Linux upgrades and drivers. Bash is highly desirable, but any Linux script will be acceptable (Vim, Emacs, Nano, Pico, Kedit, Gedit, Geany, Notepad++, Kate, Jed, LeafPad). The application is a sonar system for mine hunting vessels.

You will work from home writing the shell software and will only be required to work on site in a Covid safe environment for 1 day at the end of every 2 / 3 sprint period. Covid safety is a top priority and you will be installing the new software onto the hardware and running it and testing it within that 1 day.

ESSENIAL SKILLS / PROVEN ABILITY

• A solid foundation in software development.
• Seasoned in Linux and shell scripts.
• Proficient programming skills ideally BASH.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An ability to work as a key member of the team

DESIRABLE SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY

• C programming language.
• RedHat Linux 7
• Awareness of Software configuration control principles
• Awareness of real time constraints in software development
