Server Engineer (remote working)
I am on the lookout for a Server Engineer to work for a global organisation that has a reputation to provide a clearly defined career path to meet their employee's career aspirations.
They work across multiple industries and their diversity has helped maintain their staff during these difficult times. They are looking to expand their Secure Communications team after recently winning government-related work. This area focuses on making sure the UK's national security is prevented from cyber attacks. This is the chance to have a meaningful impact rather than your everyday work.
This role is the Server Engineer support the server estate which hosts all applications within the core infrastructure and for customers. In this role you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration and maintenance of the following:
- VMware (ESXi)
- Windows administration
- Cluster - set up and configuration
- Shared Storage - NetApp
- Hardening (Hypervisor + VMX)
We are looking for someone who has a handful of experience on the above technologies.
It will be working very closely with the NOC team. Any Cisco product experience would be really useful to collaborate with the NOC team. This is not essential but it is nice to have.
They are willing to offer home working. They have adapted to COVID 19. Like many organisations have realised that they do not need their employees in the office 24/7. You are able to work from home as much as you like and work from any of their offices across the UK. It is down to you.
Due to their adaptation to the Cloud and embracing the DevOps culture, there are plenty of opportunities for people in the team to progress technically. There will be opportunities to embrace the Cloud and DevOps principles. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to work for an organisation that works on cutting edge projects and would like to see a career path rather than looking externally every couple of years.
