Job Description

Undertaking Stability modelling and analysis and providing advice and guidance to the Platform Designers to ensure that the Watertight integrity and Stability requirements are met.

Responsible for the delivery of Stability modelling and verification tasks, delivering against the project design requirements.

Undertaking hydrodynamics modelling and analysis and providing advice and guidance to the Platform Designers to ensure that the hydrodynamics targets are met

Responsible for the delivery of hydrodynamics modelling and verification tasks, delivering against the project design requirements

Key Tasks

Working with the Naval Architecture Manager to deliver the Hydrodynamics & Stability modelling & analysis activities.

Responsible for delivering the modelling, validation and verification Scope of Work and schedule for Hydrodynamics

Specifying the Hydrodynamics Analysis and Measurement capability requirements for the Engineering Function to deliver in support of the project

Co-ordinating own activities, including delivery of assessment and guidance of equipment, systems, ship integration and implementation to meet hydrodynamics targets.

Maintaining Hydrodynamics predictions in line with the design requirements; assisting with the mitigation of non-compliances and risks; working across project disciplines to achieve resolution.

Supporting the system design development by the Stage 1 and Stage 2 teams, ensuring compliance with Hydrodynamic requirements;

Responsible for delivering the modelling, validation and verification Scope of Work and schedule for Stability Certification

Co-ordinating own activities, including delivery of assessment and guidance of equipment, systems, ship integration and implementation to meet hydrodynamics targets.

Maintaining Stability predictions in line with the design requirements; assisting with the mitigation of non-compliances and risks; working across project disciplines to achieve resolution.

Supporting the system design development by the Stage 1 and Stage 2 teams, ensuring compliance with Stability requirements;

Progressive refinement and updating of Stability models as maturity of design data increases.

Provide specialist mechanical/marine engineering expertise to organise and co-ordinate significant aspects of engineering activity within the business to ensure defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and cost. Provide input relevant to own specialist area to policy and strategy.

Qualifications/ Knowledge

Typically degree qualified, likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline.

Proficient in the use of Paramarine Stability Modelling and Analysis software

Technical Knowledge of Stability Modelling, Analysis & Reporting to meet Seaworthiness Certification

Technical Knowledge of Stability Certification regulations and processes

Technical knowledge of resistance and propulsion modelling, analysis and reporting

Technical Knowledge of vessel manoeuvring modelling, prediction, analysis and reporting

Technical Knowledge of vessel seakeeping modelling, analysis and reporting

Technical knowledge of platform design and integration, with particular reference to signature reduction and control techniques.
