As a Senior Sonar Engineer at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK, you will be given the opportunity to work in an innovative cutting-edge environment, undertaking projects across the entire engineering lifecyle, from novel research through to productisation and beyond into through-life supportability.
A Senior Sonar Engineer role at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK will provide you with the opportunity to be involved in the development of the next generation of acoustic sensing systems that provide their customers with a technological advantage.
- Technical lead for sonar product developments and research projects
- Working with Project Managers to ensure that all solutions are delivered to time, cost and quality
- Working with System Design Authorities, Product Managers and Project Managers to provide technical input and identify technical solutions for programmes.
What we are looking for in you:
You will be an experienced sonar engineer / scientist and have demonstrable knowledge of sonar principles and experience in the development of sonar subsystem components with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Sonar Sensors; Sonar data acquisition; Signal and data processing algorithm and Software development; Sonar data analysis; Sonar performance modelling; Underwater Acoustics and Sonar system integration.
Understanding how sonar subsystem components and their data processing, system integration and overall sonar capability meets the user and system requirements is essential.
You will be educated to at least Degree level (or equivalent) in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering (or similar related degree) with the ability to work within and/or lead a project team.
Experience in the underwater defence and security domain is desirable but not essential.
