The role can either be based in Reading or Bristol with great opportunities to work remotely and the bonus of being able to travel across different sites 10% of your time.
As Architect you will be providing technical leadership as well as designing software solutions that meet customer security requirements. Further to that you will be leading solution workshops with the engineering teams and capturing non-functional requirements to ensure solutions are designed to meet them.
The Architect will be governing the implementation of the design by their Sprint teams whilst participating in Scrum ceremonies where your designs are being implemented.
You will be required to review engineering practices to ensure high standards are being followed and maintained and ensuring that a proactive and positive attitude to this and all other areas of your work.
The teams you'll work with are in a state of continuous improvement, you will be a key contributor to introducing new standards, templates, and architectural processes with a consideration to the metrics required to deliver high performance scalable software.
On the odd occasion you will dive into the code yourself to identify improvements, technical debt and potential risks whilst maintaining technical debt backlogs and ensure that they are continuously progressed.
You will have experience in the design and build of highly performant, robust applications in systems which have both hardware and software components to the solution. Facilitating workshops and discussions to drive simple solution answers to complex problems in a previous role is a must.
