Programme Scheduler required to Provide specialist and administrative support to projects and programmes as part of an integrated team working directly for the Project Manager. The primary purpose of this role is to support the major programmes and growth projects, delivering new strategic work and services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Creation, maintenance and timely delivery of the schedules including Integrated Project Team schedules.
Maintaining and tailoring of processes for the Project Team
The definition, agreement and ongoing integrity of a project library of data including: Schedule, milestone & cost data; Resource tracking / management; Risk analysis tracking and Change Control.
Provision of all resources necessary to ensure timely completion of all project office related activity.
Selecting, developing / configuring and maintaining software tools to support the Project Team.
Providing consolidated project reports on a monthly and quarterly basis to senior management.
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of standardised templates for schedules and project reporting.
Supporting the PM to capture programme lessons learnt and propose project/process improvements where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of the following:
Qualification in Project Management at a degree or equivalent level.
Expert in Scheduling / planning in MS Project Professional, experience with Primavera P6 will be preferred.
Experience in Defence / Communications background. Experience in the field of Satellite & Ground Communications will be preferred.
Experience of generating integrated plans/schedules.
Experienced in working within a PMO including; scheduling, logic checking, Earned Value, Risk Management.
Experience in supporting resource management, planning and forecasting.
Knowledge of business processes, and their significance in the working environment and Project Management methodologies.
Knowledge of planning best practice including; Logic linking/dependencies; Critical Path Analysis; Work Breakdown Structure and Contingency planning.
Knowledge of Configuration Management and Configuration control processes.
Excellent MS Office applications skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Research and Analytical skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good written communication skills.
Determined and focussed approach to complete a task.
The successful candidate must be available for extensive business travel within first 4 months of contract. There will be extensive European travel to Romania, Norway and other European locations, most likely away 3 days a week at a time.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
