Senior Programme Manager


To lead the development and implementation of programme
management capability, and provide technical programme leadership of
all company programmes.

Reporting to the CFO, lead the development of company programme
management capabilities (people, processes and tools) for all company
programmes. Lead and coach current team of project managers
including graduate programme students. Develop future project
management capability and capacity to support company growth.


Responsibilities
Programme Management
 Oversee all company projects/ programmes
 Report status of cost, schedule and delivery alongside associated
risks to Senior Leadership Team
 Establish and maintain effective partnerships with multiple
stakeholders to deliver outcomes
 Monitor progress, resolve issues and initiate appropriate
corrective actions
 Define governance arrangements
 Allocate/ recruit project managers as needed
 Ensure allocation of common resources and skills within
individual projects
 Manage third party contributions to the projects
 Manage both dependencies and interfaces between projects
 Initiate extra activities and other management interventions
wherever gaps in the projects are identified or issues arise
Project Management
 Manage the project management task on the strategic HiAP
(High integrity AutoPilot) project (HICLASS/ODIN) (budget
>£2.5m over 4 years)
 Stakeholder management
Team Leadership and Coaching
 Line management of current PM team
 Coach individuals within team to improve personal capabilities
 Support team in managing difficult stakeholders
Capability Building
 Select and implement tools and processes to ensure good
governance and support growth
 Build business resilience in people, processes and tools
 Develop and deliver training programmes to increase team skills
Bid Support
 Support bids as necessary
 Ensure appropriate levels of PM resource are costed into

Qualifications
 Educated to degree level in engineering related discipline or equivalent
 Chartered engineer or comparable
 > 20 years' experience in project and programme management in
engineering environments
 Prince 2 practitioner
 UK clean driving licence an advantage
 SC clearance an advantage
