Position Overview

To support and administer client's Data and Voice Networks, including both onshore and offshore. Participate in projects as a technical resource.

Main Duties
Duties include but are not limited to: -

Ensure a secure, reliable and effective network.
Administer and support a complex and varied network both offshore and onshore, primarily managing the following technologies.
Layer two/three Switching (Primarily Cisco), Catalyst & Nexus Switches
Layer three Routing (Primarily Cisco) utilising EIGRP/BGP/OSPF protocols and VRF
NG Firewalls - Checkpoint, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA (IPS, AV, VPN, https inspection etc.)
Cisco Wireless Technologies
Cisco ISE 802.1x
Voice - Cisco Call Manager and Skype for Business
Solarwinds Orion Monitoring (Various Modules - NPM, NCM, NTA and IPAM etc.)
Kemp Hardware Load Balancers
Riverbed WAN Optimisation
Polycom & Pexip VCC Infrastructure
Azure Expressroute & Potentially other Cloud Based services
Provide technical input and resources to support various operational projects
Creation and maintenance of high quality documentation & detailed schematic diagrams
Participate in on-call rota and limited offshore & international travel as required

Education Attainment & Accreditation

Technical degree or equivalent combined with 7 to 10+ years of general IT experience (other combinations of experience and/or education may also be considered)
Technical certifications preferable i.e. CCNA/CCNP

Professional Skills & Experience

Proven track record of supporting and managing complex voice and data networks
Proactive approach to network administration and methodical troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with the O&G sector and an understanding of the offshore environment
Familiarisation with ITIL processes and procedures

Interpersonal Skills & Qualities

Work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
Flexible and good team player, service focused to deal with internal customers and partners
Solid inter-personal skills & ability to pay great attention to detail and be meticulous
