We have an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer based at Warrington

The requested role is to deliver the Mechanical scope on the RHILW Phase 1 - Preparatory Work Task Order. The project is developing a reference routing option that will become the basis of an IPDG submission.

Post IPDG it is anticipated that the role will continue to deliver the detailed design phase of the project.

Senior Mechanical Engineer with the capabilities of undertaking the following tasks:
Input into defining routing options for the GP flask and waste drum
Produce Mechanical Sequence Diagrams for routing options
Develop an equipment schedule for each routing option defining current and future project duties
Retrieve asset information regarding existing equipment condition to determine future capability (including document reviews, discussing with system engineers and undertaking site surveys)
Review in-cell recovery scenarios for existing and new equipment
Investigate constraints with existing interlocks - Personal Access
Investigate existing interlocks for the existing In Cave Drum Transporter and determine the impact of these for each of the routing options
Input into optioneering process and contribute to report production and review.
Production and Checking of Mechanical Design documentation and contribute to multidiscipline design documentation, including

Functional Design Requirements Specification
Technical Specifications
Technical Files
O&M Manuals
Risk Assessments
Undertake and interpret plant surveys (escorted)
Contribute to Engineering, Assurance, HAZOP reviews
Verification of Mechanical design to confirm compliance against functional requirements, customer requirements, legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security
Production of design packs for estimate and construction
Production/update of plant operational and maintenance documentation. (proof tests, Maintenance Instructions & ARI's)
Experience of design delivery in a highly regulated industry.
Knowledge of delivering against legislative, regulatory and SL company policy standards and procedures.
Experience in writing technical documentation, including specifications, calculations and reports.
Proactive approach, team player and ownership of scope delivery.
Ability to learn and develop new skills.
Experience of remote mechanical handling equipment (essential).
Experience of design of lifting equipment (essential).
Experience of mechanical substantiation (essential).
Experience on Magnox Encapsulation Plant (desirable).
Experience in supporting Safety Case development (desirable).
Experience in Systems / Reliability engineering (desirable).

P1/P4 pass holder (desirable)
SC required.
Monitored Worker (desirable)

Experience in the use of Autocad and other engineering tools (desirable)
