Purpose of role:
To carry out all aspects of RN OPV Requirements, assurance and acceptance management including providing supporting evidence for compliance for:
3 Ship Contract - requirements and assurance / acceptance criteria across all engineering disciplines
In Service Support -
Platform specific requirements for ships in service
Requirements and assurance / acceptance criteria for changes applicable to ships in service
This is to be achieved by active engagement of all stakeholders and the maintenance of unimpeachable audit trails.

Key Technical Skills
Knowledge and experience of managing technical requirements (Highly desirable)
Knowledge and experience in delivery of assurance / acceptance (Highly desirable)
Knowledge of database information management tools (Desirable - training will be given if necessary)
Clear understanding of what makes good requirements (Mandatory).

Company/Industry Knowledge:
Awareness of overarching Corporate and Naval Ships design and build process and guidance (Desirable).
Experience of projects specification trees (Mandatory)
Knowledge of Defence contracts and equipment (Desirable)
Knowledge of shipbuilding and integration (Desirable).

Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent.

Top 6 Major Tasks and Activities:
Develop and implement robust requirements, assurance and acceptance processes and tools to ensure successful acceptance off contract for each ship
Capture of Source Requirements and derivation / definition of 'good' requirements (including assurance / acceptance criteria / closure statements) and obtaining stakeholder validation
Identify and document supporting evidence which confirms requirements have been met. This may include design information, trials information, QC reports etc.
Implement change management and maintenance of audit trail across all 3 RN OPVs.
Support to Assurance / Acceptance, Commercial and In-Service Support communities.
Define and maintain RN OPV R&A databases with update / enhancement as required.

Additional Key Accountabilities:
(Describe the roles operational responsibility in terms of volume/quality/timeliness/decision making/tactical/strategic
Responsible to the RN OPV Assurance / Acceptance Manager for the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the requirements and assurance / acceptance information.
Responsible to the RN OPV Assurance / Acceptance Manager for the compliance of work products with current management plans and quality processes.
Contribute to the Engineering Function (Head of Systems Engineering) to inform and contribute towards Corporate and Naval Ships policy and processes.
Identify and implement good practice and lessons learned from other programmes.

Key Outputs/Deliverables: Business Unit
Maintain the RADb database and publication of all supporting Documentation up-issues.
Develop and maintain RN OPV platform specific requirements documents for ships in service
Contribute to development of requirements and assurance / acceptance criteria for individual changes to ships in service
Publish and incorporate into the RADb database proposed changes, agreed changes at working level, and changes endorsed by requirements change board
