Job purpose
Reporting to the Production Manager, my client is looking to recruit an Inspector/Wirer in the assembly department. The successful candidate will be a self motivated, flexible with an ability to read and interpret drawings and carry out self inspection related tasks
The successful candidate will be required to inspect/audit manufactured product against both company and customer specifications. The role also requires the candidate to assemble and wire electronic control cubicles systems and sub assemblies to drawings, wiring schedules and circuit diagrams in a timely and professional manner. Refurbish returned equipment and Install and modify equipment on customer's premises.
Key responsibilities
Inspecting, auditing of manufactured product to company and/or customer agreed standards and reporting results
To formally retain and retrieve Contract, Test & Inspection records as necessary
To maintain departmental working instructions
To advise and assist manufacturing departments on company standards
To assist in training operators in self inspection
To carry out inspection at suppliers/customers premises
Liaise with customer representatives as required
Supporting other inspection sections as necessary, e.g. goods in
Arbitrate on fitness for purpose of material and if necessary implement the rejection procedure
Build job from all the relevant information provided e.g. GA'S, Cct diagrams, Wiring schedules
Recognise and work around shortage problems
To have the ability to work unsupervised
To undertake the build of first off / prototype equipment and liaise with Engineering to achieve optimum solutions
Liaise with Engineering re: any design change/rectification
Liaise with QA department on standards, i.e. Engineering Manual, preferred components, workmanship standards
Liaise with Material Control re: component/material problems
Co-ordinate internal and external audits.
Produce and write company procedures relevant to the role.
Produce KPI'S.
Personal attributes
Apprenticeship or city & guilds equivalent
CQI Certificate in Quality Management Level 3, (U304 - Quality Management)
Certificate of secondary education.
ISO 9000/1 procedures.
ISO 14001 procedures.
IFS business system awareness.
ESD - Electrostatic awareness.
