Our client is looking for a Senior Chemist to support the Lead Chemist in the delegated nuclear engineering subjects associated with the UK ABWR, from the GDA/ Site specific design phase through to plant construction and operations. The post holder will also manage framework contracts and support production of nuclear related studies.

Duties will include:-
Supporting the Lead Chemist, as a core member of the Design Authority Team, in the delivery of business plan related targets and undertake specific roles within the Business Management System.
Support the Lead Chemist in the delivery of the Reactor Chemistry topic area of SCDO.
Development of relationships with industry bodies such as EPRI, BWROG and membership of utility programmes.
Provide support to the Lead Chemist in defining safety and environmental functional requirements and the preparation of the site specific nuclear safety and BAT cases.
Support the Lead Chemist on the delivery of intelligent customer and design authority capability within Horizon in areas of chemistry, materials and corrosion.
Review documents supplied by HGNE and other suppliers.
Provide guidance and support to other members of the team.
In fulfilment of 'Intelligent Customer' capacity, specification, monitoring and review of work provided by 3rd parties, including HGNE and other technical support contractors.

Candidates must be Degree or equivalent qualification in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials or corrosion science or other relevant discipline.
A member of a relevant professional body/institution.
Demonstrates a track record of success, achievement and learning in career to date, adding value within relevant positions.
Knowledge and understanding across a broad range of nuclear power plant chemistry issues.
A working knowledge of key legislation and regulation affecting chemistry across a nuclear power plant (including conventional legislation).
Ability to learn, adapt and thrive, delivering value in a changing and evolving organisation.
Consistently demonstrates behaviours aligned to the business values: safety, courage, integrity, collaboration and inspiration.
Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel as required.
