Senior Buyer required by our client BAE Systems to support a capital investment contract with MoD which requires c.£90m of capital investment across BAE sites, mainly around plant & equipment and site infrastructure. The Senior Buyer will help deliver this investment and ensure that value for money is achieved.

The base location of the role is Glascoed however the role will be remote working until further notice. The initial contract duration is 12 months and there is a rate of £25 Per Hour on offer. As this role has been deemed Insider IR35, payment will be made via an Umbrella Company.

Candidates will need to be able to quickly develop relationships with key stakeholders at each site and influence change by reinforcing a robust procurement process to include

-specifying requirements,

-identifying potential suppliers,

-running e-sourcing events - Coupa.

-co-ordinating the evaluation, down-select, negotiation and award,

-managing the transaction (SAP/Coupa),

-identifying and obtaining approval of cost savings to the business, and managing suppliers to ensure delivery of goods/services as agreed.

Areas of spend may include a wide range of plant and equipment (machining centres, industrial press, spray paint booth, inspection/measuring equipment, cooling, etc. In addition, there is a wide range of infrastructure projects to improve site buildings.

The Senior Buyer will be a self-starter who can influence change by getting close to the site stakeholders and demonstrate the value we can bring.
