Our client has 440 colleagues working across 18 locations from Inverness right down to Newton Abbot in Cornwall. They hire bridging and non-mechanical construction equipment and services, meaning we get to work on some of the most important engineering, construction, manufacturing and infrastructure projects in the country.

About the role
As Senior Area Engineer you will provide effective and safe engineering designs for large and complex excavations, Formwork, Falsework and refurbishment projects. You will mentor and develop the team and often deputise in the managers' absence.
Day to day you will:
Prepare complex designs for temporary works schemes for excavations, Formwork, Falsework and building refurbishment projects
Regularly checking work before final submission to the client
Ongoing mentoring and development of the team
Build solid relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Regularly attend client meetings and carry out site visits
Manage work to meet often demanding deadlines
Liaise regularly with the sales function to finalise design brief details to ensure the clients' requirements are accurately captured and delivered
Utilise AutoCAD to produce high quality drawings
Comply, monitor and improve (where necessary) existing QA Procedures
Comply with Management H&S documents
Produce safe designs, schemes, method statements and risk assessments in accordance with CDM Regulations 2007
Ensure provision and maintenance of high level of service in all areas.
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 5 years Engineering experience with a bias towards Temporary works
Ability to mentor and develop team members
Strong software skills including AutoCAD and Analysis software
Strong commercial acumen
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
A proactive problem solver with excellent time management skills
