Be the air filtration technology leader and expert within the business (principally associated with gas turbines) ensuring that solutions are technically and commercially sound and that the business' risks are managed through all phases of a project, from enquiry through to delivery, commissioning and operation.
Manage the allocated project and opportunities to ensure the overall business objectives are met (secure profitable contracts) and ensure positive customer relationships are maintained for the benefit of the company. This will include:
Ensuring that you provide the necessary services and support that projects require in order that we can excel as an organisation delivering compliant projects on time, to budget, in a way that satisfies our customers whilst ensuring the sustainability and growth of the business.
Providing a technical sales support service to new and existing customers to secure profitable contracts.
Developing new and innovative air filtration solutions to meet customer and project needs and setting the business strategy for filtration products, including product development and product improvement.
Providing pre-contract and post-contract engineering support producing concept designs & sketches, calculations and proposals in a timely and cost effective manner to meet our customer's requirements.
Creating, developing and maintaining positive customer relationships and partnerships.
With relation to air filtration products:
Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the business for air filtration products and services.
Provide a concept engineering service for opportunities and projects capture and interpret project/customer requirements and promote the benefits solutions.
Understand the customer requirements and managing the risks to the business:
Clarify technical specifications and requirements
Confirm scope of supply and delivery terms
Resolve any specification conflicts
Understand the technical and commercial risk of a Project and maintain a risk register
Manage Customer Delivery Schedules and develop Preliminary Project Plans
Where required, establish terms and conditions early in a project
Where required, define payment schedules and terms and their impact on cash flow
Where required manage enquiry specifications received from customers, their revisions and ensure that all comments and exceptions are logged and agreements with clients are agreed in writing.
Produce concept designs and calculations for our range of filtration products, where relevant considering structural, air flow dynamics and acoustic aspects of the design.
Prepare documents and sketches to effectively communicate and capture the equipment required to meet the customer's needs and specification, such that the costs can be estimated.
Co-ordinate the production of internal and external estimates for the proposed design solution, including the production of equipment specifications.
Where relevant, produce financial cost models of the proposed customer solution/s for Director approval.
Where relevant, produce detailed proposal documents to effectively communicate the solution, managing the scope of supply, compliance and project risk and highlighting the benefits offered.
For air filtration products define and undertake product improvement & development initiatives including continuous improvement.
Work closely with & support other departments in the Company to ensure that customer's and the Company's requirements and expectations are met.
Where required undertake customer visits and subsequent reporting, to include UK and overseas visits.
Create and maintain long term relationships with our customers and suppliers to support and develop the business.
Ensure projects are effectively handed over and ensure support is provided to ensure that the projects are successfully delivered.
Complete clear notes and packages of technical & commercial information to ensure effective handover from the point of sale to the project execution team.
All activities must be completed in a timely and effective manner to meet the deadlines set by our customer and the Company.
Work in accordance with the company and departmental processes.*
SUPERVISION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The post Holder must work to attain optimum performance in service and delivery within their area of responsibility.
The work is varied, may be complex and will involve changing rapidly from one task to another during the working day, often under pressure.
Will be required to communicate with other services and outside organisations at all levels.
Will be required to work individually and as part of a team to achieve tight deadlines, using own initiative. On occasion there may be a requirement to supervise staff.
Will be required to seek the advice of the Sales & Applications Manager on difficult or contentious matters.

Engineering or Manufacturing Qualification to HND level or equivalent.
Engineering or Manufacturing Qualification to Degree level or equivalent.
Over 10 years experience of working in a technical filtration engineering position or equivalent technical filtration sales position
Experience of working in an Engineering or Manufacturing business.
Proven track record of success.
Experience of working in similar Engineering or Manufacturing business related to gas turbines.
