The Company

The successful candidate will be working for a multinational distributor of security products, selling to specialist trade installers the client offers ranges from most of Europe's top manufacturers. In the UK they distribute through a network of 27 Branches.

Duties /Role

The role is primarily outbound telesales activity driving and supporting direct mail campaigns, marketing/promotional campaigns e- commerce and supports any other activity that is within the remit of the internal sales team

Purpose of Position

  • To grow sales with current transactional customers and to generate new business opportunities with potential new customers recruitment promoting the products & services of the Company
  • To achieve Daily/weekly/monthly KPI's set by outbound calls to cold calling data sets as well as existing lapsed and declined data sets.
  • To give a complete sales and after-sales service to new and existing transactional customers when required
  • To proactively contact customers in relation to specific sales and marketing campaigns against individual sales targets
  • To work in conjunction with the Internal sales team helping to qualify sales leads, drive the new business by outbound calling then proactively manage the business by working with your internal sales individuals to continually monitor the progression of accounts brought in by your own activity.


  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge for all product divisions and display strong sales skills to achieve our goals
  • Ensure regular contact with the Technical support department to ensure quotes provided are correct in terms of specification
  • Attend regular product training to ensure consistent knowledge base in line with market developments.


  • To contact new and existing identified transactional customers on a regular basis to generate and/or increase business by outbound call activity
  • To achieve established sales and margin targets
  • To ensure all sales/customer/vendor leads are dealt with as soon as possible and that they are exploited to their full potential both inbound and outbound activity.
  • To ensure all orders are received, processed and despatched efficiently and on time.
  • To make sales calls to existing and potential new customers, with a clear process of generating a further sales opportunity
  • Temporary back up field sales & the branch network from central internal sales desk


  • To regularly update and maintain contact records with customers
  • Ensure all quote records are followed up on within agreed timescales
  • Maintain monthly reports on performance for review
  • Ensure full productivity to meet set targets related to incoming and outgoing sales calls and percentage sales wins

Skills Required


- A strong record of successful Business to Business sales o A proven track record in outbound selling

- Ability to handle objections and sell through service o Ability to understand key outbound calling objectives and hit KPI's set

- Ability to self motivate to see opportunities and drive them by use of telephone.

- Proven business development skills with the ability to maintain and grow a profitable relationship o Equally confident in reactive selling where applicable *


- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in both verbal & written format with colleagues and customers

- Good telephone manner with the ability to establish relationships very quickly o Strong inter-personal skills


- Strong personal organisational skills coupled with the ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously

- Comfortable working in a demanding & targeted environment

- Strong administration skills

- Time management skills which are second to none with the ability to prioritize tasks appropriately

Product knowledge

Have an excellent knowledge of all the Company's product range or the ability to acquire such knowledge within a reasonable period of time

Computer literate

Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and in-house Company systems or the ability to acquire such skills within a reasonable period of time (SAP experience is an advantage)


- Minimum 3 years Sales experience and strong track record of success

- Strong background in an environment that is KPI and specific outbound calling both new/cold and company data sets must be very goal-driven
