We have an opportunity for a Safety Case Engineer based at Sellafield, Cumbria

Please note this role is inside IR35

Job Role

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
To assists with the following types of indicative tasks under the supervision of the Project SMEs and experienced personnel:
Support and undertake Short Term Periodic Reviews
Assist with Safety Case Implementation tasks.
Personality:
Self-motivated individual able to work under guidance and from their own initiative. Positive attitude and willingness to develop. Reliable, tolerant, and determined, an empathic communicator, able to see things from the other persons point of view. Able to get on with others and be a team-player. A questioning and investigative attitude is desirable.
Ability to work as an integral part of a team and from own initiative to achieve results. Possess the ability to justify/explain progress made, and actions implemented.
Specific Job Skills:
Basic understanding of the principles of Safety Cases, Nuclear and General Engineering. Previous experience of Sellafield and the Safety Cases will be useful.
Computer skills:
Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. The ability to use and experience of the Sellafield IT systems will be an advantage.
Literacy:
Must be a competent writer of technical based reports/presentations and safety assessments/reviews.
Communication Skills:
Must be a good communicator using face-to-face discussion, telephone and email. The ability to listen is essential. Ability to interact remotely using various technologies is a required skill with the current remote working.
Preferential experience:
Sound and basic understanding of the Safety Case Review processes and requirements, Knowledge of the Safety Case Index and Previous Safety Case experience

The position is subject to the ability of the candidate to obtain SC Level personnel security standard clearance and obtain a Sellafield P4 pass.
Current possession of a P4 Sellafield pass and security preferred, but not essential
